Food Security Livelihood

Food Security and Livelihoods programs are crucial for addressing both the immediate needs of vulnerable populations and building sustainable solutions for long-term stability.

UNKEA has been running integrated food security and livelihoods programs in South Sudan to address the complex issues of food insecurity, conflict, and displacement.

Program Objectives:

The main goal of this program is to:

• Improve food security for vulnerable communities by providing both short-term relief (food aid) and long-term solutions (livelihood support, agricultural development, and capacity building).

• Promote livelihood diversification to reduce dependency on food aid by supporting small-scale agriculture and income-generating activities.

• Build resilience against future shocks (conflict, floods, drought, etc.) by strengthening local food production and economic systems.
